60 Years of Nurturing Young Children

Across this year we have been marking the 60th anniversary of Early Years from our formation in 1965. We have also issued a commemorative publication to celebrate '60 Years of Nurturing Young Children' which captures some of the highlights of the last six decades.

Our CEO Pauline Walmsley provided a foreword to the booklet, including the following message;

"I have spent the greater part of my career with Early Years, beginning in the mid-1990s as Manager of the Cross Border Rural Childcare Project and later International Manager.....This early work in communities in Northern Ireland and Ireland shaped my commitment to working with parents and to growing a rich tapestry of services for young children. We have gained enormously from our wider engagement, from cross-border cooperation at a local level to global networking for peace and reconciliation, all the while being mindful of our community roots across Northern Ireland".
