Fermanagh LSP

The project has been developed to support the development of a high quality network of social economy type early years services across Fermanagh.

This will involve supporting 7 playgroups develop a social economy model of early childhood service.

Will provide ongoing support and training to playgroups in:

  • Ballinamallard
  • Irvinestown
  • Kinawley
  • Derrylin
  • Derrygonnelly
  • Trory
  • Arney

This will involve supporting playgroups in the identified areas to:

  • Develop more robust approach to running their settings and enhance the business capacity skills within committees
  • Support committees and staff become more sustainable through the development of a range of commercial activities to support social and community activities
  • Development the management and leadership capacities of committees and staff with a particular focus on working teams, leadership, marketing and public relations, financial planning, budgeting, business planning and effective fundraising.
  • Support playgroup committees and staff explore opportunities to collaborate more effectively in order to provide the range of early childhood services to meet the changing needs of children and families within mainly rural communities
  • Support playgroup committees to examine to examine the possibilities of diversifying their services in line with new government policies and national and international research.
  • The playgroup within the identified area will be supported to explore a number of different models of community management and will be provided with joint approaches to administration, payroll, fundraising, grant making etc.
