Overview

Playgroup Accreditation

Early Years - the organisation for young children has delivered an accreditation programme since 1991. Developed in line with International Research on Best Practice in Early Years Care and Education, the process ensures that service providers can have external verification on the high quality nature of their provision.

Good quality early years experiences are vital to the health and development of young children. Providing a quality early years experience ensures that the Physical and Emotional Well-Being of a child is developed.

A stimulating, warm, nurturing environment with well trained, highly motivated staff will enable children to have positive early years experiences, develop their social and intellectual ability and give them a good start in life whereby they will be eager and able to learn.

Early Years staff assist groups through the accreditation process, which examines all aspects of service provision through the application of the Benchmark Standards gathered into 14 key aspects of Early Years Care and Education.

Are you a group who looks for something that will give recognition for the hard work, dedication and commitment of all those involved?

If so, contact Gillian Totten at Early Years on 028 9066 2825 for further information.

The All Ireland Centre of Excellence Award

Early Years – the organisation for young children and NCNA, the National Children's Nurseries Association, provide an accreditation programme that supports the development of quality in full day child care services throughout Ireland.

Based on self evaluation, the programme can be used as an ongoing focus on quality to identify where a service is on its quality journey and what strategies it needs to promote quality improvement.

A Self Evaluation Profile document is available which clearly states the ten areas to be addressed by the service and the required standard to be met. There is a team of experienced early years validators who represent Early Years and NCNA whose role is to assess the service against the self evaluation profile.

For further information on the All Ireland Centre of Excellence Award please contact Early Years – the organisation for young children.
