UNCRC Events

Celebration of 36 years of service

When: 30/11/2009    Location: Newtownards Town Hall    Area: Eastern

This event is for staff and parents of early years centres in the area. We hope to have 50-60 people attending. There will be displays by children on their rights, and a celebration of 36 years of service from Ethel Anderson, PG leader Bangor West Church Nursery. Local political representatives Iris Robinson and Jim Shannon have been invited to speak. There will also be a presentation from Colin Millar.

Ballygowan Parents and Toddlers Fun and Facts Day

Ballygowan Parent and Toddlers group is hosting a fun and facts day, they will have a piece of artwork on display done by parents and toddlers to celebrate the UNCRC. There will also be information stands for parents on a range of issues and products.

Storytelling

When: 20/11/2009    Location: The Oak Shopping Centre, Dungannon     Area: Southern

Storytelling Event organised by Karen Lester  and Sharon Flannigan. Under the big canvas gazebo, with the fat cushions local playgroups leaders will read stories for children. There will also be displays by local Early Years members.

This event will have Information stands from Early Years members and and activities for parents and children. All the local council have been invited to attend as well.

Flagging Up Attention for the UNCRC

When: 20/11/2009    Location: Playtrail, Derry    Area: Northern

This event has been organised for staff, children and parents of Rainbow Playgroup in Galliagh. The children will be making flags to reflect each of the articles and a local artist will help children make wish catchers which will then be hung on a wish tree.
