Training Programme

The training of early years' practitioners/teachers to implement the programme is a vital component of this initiative and much work has gone into the development of this. Through the training diversity is translated into practice as practioners and teachers are given ideas to help them maximise the potential of the MIFC resources.

The MIFC Respecting Difference three day comprehensive Training offers practioners and teachers opportunities to reflect on their own values, attitudes and bias as well as building up skills to implement the programme.

A subsequent follow up training day enables practitioners to come together and review their implementation, learn from each others experiences and look at various messages in more detail.

Since 2006 the training has been delivered in both Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland. Staff from more than 1,200 Early Years settings and schools has completed training in the MIFC.

Ongoing support from an Early Years Specialist is available for all member groups.
