DAY 2

9:00am - 9:45am Registration/refreshments. HighScope Publications Stand
Workshop Options: (For each day the choice is either one full day workshop or one or both of the half day workshops)
Option 1 (Half Day Workshop)
10:00am – 12:30pm Preschool Science
Sue Gainsley
No, it's not about test tubes and lab coats, instead it's all about the Preschool Scientific Method. This workshop will have you thinking like a scientist as you use your science eyes to discover and support scientific learning in your preschool classroom. Learn about the six components of the HighScope preschool scientific method, and how to identify and support children's science learning as it occurs in the different areas of the classroom.

You do small-group times, but do they leave you wondering if you could be doing more? In this workshop, you will learn to make small-group time a truly meaningful experience. Discover how children learn "content" through active learning small-group times, how to scaffold within each activity to maximize each child's learning, and to plan for the three components of a HighScope small-group time.
