The Support Service
Early Years Specialists and Development Workers will support early years settings in:
- Carrying out self-evaluation – enabling staff as a team to identify the strengths and modifiable issues of their provision
- Planning for developments needed in order to sustain continuous improvement
- Selecting training and support programmes which will meet their setting's developmental needs
- Planning the learning and development programme
- The implementation of observation and assessment techniques - which meets the children's individual needs
- Developing arrangements with relevant primary schools designed to help the children make a smooth transition to year 1
- Developing strategies for working collaboratively with parents
- Enabling staff to collaborate more effectively with their local community
- The implementation of evidence-based models of good practice – which will enrich the curriculum
- Drawing up development plans
- Drawing up action plans
- Sourcing funding opportunities
