The Support Service
Early Years Specialists and Development Workers will support early years settings in:
Carrying out self-evaluation – enabling staff as a team to identify the strengths and modifiable issues of their provision
Planning for developments needed in order to sustain continuous improvement
Selecting training and support programmes which will meet their setting's developmental needs
Planning the learning and development programme
The implementation of observation and assessment techniques - which meets the children's individual needs
Developing arrangements with relevant primary schools designed to help the children make a smooth transition to year 1
Developing strategies for working collaboratively with parents
Enabling staff to collaborate more effectively with their local community
The implementation of evidence-based models of good practice – which will enrich the curriculum
Drawing up development plans
Drawing up action plans
