The Support Service
Early Years Specialists and Development Workers will support early years settings in:
- carrying out self-evaluation – enabling staff as a team to identify the strengths and modifiable issues of their provision
- planning for developments needed in order to sustain continuous improvement
- selecting training and support programmes which will meet their setting's developmental needs
- planning the learning and development programme
- the implementation of observation and assessment techniques - which meets the children's individual needs
- developing arrangements with relevant primary schools designed to help the children make a smooth transition to year 1
- developing strategies for working collaboratively with parents
- enabling staff to collaborate more effectively with their local community
- the implementation of evidence-based models of good practice – which will enrich the curriculum
- drawing up development plans
- drawing up action plans
- sourcing funding opportunities
