Making an Application

Q. Should applications be returned by post?
A. Application forms can be sent to the monitoring officer email address here or sent by post.
Q. How do I track my application?
A. When submitting an application online, applicants should receive an automatically generated receipt. As email problems can on occasion occur, Early Years suggests that applicants call the HR department on 028 9038 7905 before the application deadline to ensure their application has reached the inbox.

It is the canditate's responsibility to ensure that their application form is submitted to Early Years on time and prior to the closing date.

If an applicant wishes to submit an application by post, Early Years encourages him/her to send the application by recorded delivery so it can be tracked.
Q. Can I apply for a job by sending my CV instead of the application form?
A. No. Applications must be made by using the Early Years application form.
Q. Can the application form be downloaded?
A. The application can be downloaded by visiting the recruitment web section.
Q. Where do I find the job description and personnel specification?
A. Each job vacancy has a link which takes the applicant to the application pack which includes:

  • Application and Equal Opportunities Monitoring forms
  • Job Description
  • Personnel Specification
  • Additional Information
Applicants need Microsoft Word to enable them to complete the application form online. To view the job description, personnel specification and additional information documents applicants need Adobe Acrobat Reader on their computer.

If applicants don't currently have these software programmes installed on their computer, they can be downloaded for free from the internet.
Q. What is the closing date and time?
A. The closing date will be shown on all job advertisements and in the application pack. Unless otherwise specified, the job will close at 12 noon on the closing date.
